Our Operating Model

Async-First

We're remote and async. We respect deep work time. Communication happens in writing, thoughtfully, with time for people to respond.

Shipping Small & Often

We ship frequently. A good PR every 2–3 days. Features launch when they're ready. This keeps momentum and feedback loops tight.

Direct Communication

No layers of management or hierarchy. You can talk directly to Zao, to the team, to customers. Feedback flows both ways.

Customer Close

Everyone talks to users. Engineers get on calls with customers. You'll know why features matter and what problems you're solving.

Ownership Culture

Depending on the role, either a small take-home assignment or a deeper technical/product discussion.

You'll talk with Zao and relevant team members. We'll discuss how you work, your values, and if we're a fit.

Offer & Negotiation

If we're aligned, we'll send an offer and work together on compensation. Straightforward.
